Andy has been a Golf Professional since 1989, qualifying as a PGA professional in 1993. When Andy’s daughter, Beth, was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in 2002, he naturally turned to sporting challenges as a means to generate the awareness and funds that would improve her circumstances. Once he had conquered his own fundraising medium, Andy’s attention then turned to finding ways to maximize the productivity of his efforts; joining like-minded parents to form a dedicated research-focused organisation concentrated on delivering treatments and cures for this devastating condition. Andy has lead a variety of team challenges since RSRT UK was launched, each one more difficult than the last, making him something of a fundraising legend within the Rett community, motivating parents and supporters alike with his gruelling endeavours and relentless efforts to speed treatment for his daughter.

‘I am inspired by my daughter and the way she lives her life. She’s the legend. We know that a cure for Rett is possible. I am just keen to do all I can to help that happen, for Beth and future generations.’
