June 16 2019: Rudsambee Concert Edinburgh

Edinburgh based choir, Rudsambee, perform a special concert in Corstorphine Old Parish Church (2a Corstorphine High St, Edinburgh EH12 7ST) at 7pm on Sunday 16th June.

To reflect the predominance of Rett syndrome in girls, all the music will be by female composers: Vittoria Aleotti and Isabella Leonarda from the 17th century; Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann and Amy Beach from the 19th; Thea Musgrave and Undine Moore from the 20th; and Abbie Betinis, Sheena Phillips, Frances Cockburn and Rosephanye Powell from the 21st. There will be polyphonic Church music, folk song from Ireland, fluttering butterflies, piranhas on the Glasgow undergound, Victorian sentimentality – and more!

Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection in support of Reverse Rett, in honour of Ellie Taylor.
