Hazel with her granddaughter, Lotta
By Hazel Beiny
It was 7 years ago when my beautiful granddaughter Lotta was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. I know many of you will have had the same experience and will have benefited from the support and advice of other grandparents.
Many of you will also have run marathons, climbed mountains and generously given your time and money to support Reverse Rett in 100 different ways. With my friends, we’ve put on successful wine and cheese tasting, lunches, talks with historians and make up sales.
For these two reasons, we are interested in forming a group for grandparents of children with Rett Syndrome – to share experiences and advice, and to work together to raise money from our friends and communities.
Over the coming weeks, we want to hear from grandparents who would be interested in joining a group, and to talk to you about how it might work best.
