Our incredible fundraisers from this month

27/03/2026

We’ve had some truly incredible events this past month. We’d like to shout out all of you individually, but we can’t, however much we might want to. But we thought we’d give a shoutout to a couple of our favorite young fundraisers from this month.

So, let’s talk about eighteen-year-old Erin, and four-year-old Sophie.

At the end of last month, one night in Chesterfield, a group of glamourous guests gathered for Sophie’s Ball, held in honour of four-year-old Sophie, who has Rett Syndrome.

The group was so glamourous, they even invited the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield, Bary and Marie Dyke.

It was a big, three-course, sit down meal, held at Chesterfield FC Stadium.

The event, organised by Sam Kealey and Louise Matthews (who worked tirelessly alongside Sophie’s mum and dad, Samantha and Matt), raised a grand total of £21,966.

It’s amazing what friends can achieve when discussing fundraising ideas over a bottle of wine.

Meanwhile, Erin Eave’s was planning her own event. Erin started fundraising Reverse Rett in 2015, aged just 8 years old, despite having no family members with Rett.

Erin held her first charity event, in Warrington, on March 7th. And she raised £3485 from a combination of ticket sales, raffles and an auction.

A special mention to Erin’s mum, Katie, who hates the limelight, but did an amazing job helping Erin put this night together.

All this goes to show you that anyone can fundraise. We often highlight the runners and mountain climbers. And they make an incredible contribution. But there are lots of ways you can fundraise for Reverse Rett, including events like these two.

And you can watch the video that played at Erin’s doo at this link (special shoutout to Abbie’s Mum, Sarah, and Lilys Mum, Jayne, for sharing their stories).
