Want to raise twice as much money? Ask your employer about doubled donations
You’ve put in the miles. You’ve braved stormy weather. You’ve trained, and you’ve organised, and you’ve done a challenge on behalf of Reverse Rett. And it’s an amazing feeling. A feeling you’ve earned.
But maybe you’re left wishing you could’ve raised more. Maybe you’re left wondering if there’s some way to, let’s say, totally off the top of my head, double all the donations you receive, at no extra cost to your donors.
Well, as it turns out, you can.
Many employers have a scheme where the company will match donations to your cause. That way, you raise more money, and your friends feel less harassed. Research from the Charities Trust showed people were 84 per cent more willing to donate to a fundraiser, if it had matched funding.
And they’re right to think that way. A matched donation is literally worth twice as much.
So, now we’re going to break down how to get matched funding from your employer.
Are you ready? Strap in because it’s a bit complicated.
Step one: Ask your employer.
Step two: Fill in one (1) form.
Step three: That’s it.
So yeah, you might as well give it a go. What have you got to lose?
And it’s a win win: You get doubled donations, and your employer gets that warm and fuzzy feeling inside (a tax break).
So next time your fundraising, ask your employer about matched funding for donations.
