Elsie’s Golf Day

16/09/2021

On 28th August Kate and Neil Buckley held their third consecutive annual Golf Day in honour of their daughter, Elsie and raised a staggering £17,000!

The Buckleys’ fundraising continues to go from strength to strength, with Elsie inspiring tremendous support from friends, family and the local community.

Not only are these events critical in raising funds, but also in bringing awareness and understanding of Rett Syndrome to new audiences, spreading the word about the syndrome itself and the urgency of the cause.

Our sincerest thanks and congratulations to Kate and Neil for putting on such a successful event and to all those who supported, took part, baked, played and donated – a true example of what can be achieved when communities come together!

A few words from Neil . . .

“Wow wow wow! The sun shone for the 3rd time in as many years at Elsie’s Golf day and despite the times we managed to raise an incredible amount.

We truly had an absolute amazing turnout!

The day kicked off with lots of smiles and a dedication to help cure Rett Syndrome. For a little town in Kent the support both in Love and financially was absolutely immense.

Kate, Elsie and I can’t thank everyone enough for making it such a fantastic day. Deep appreciation also to Poult Wood Golf Club and The George and Dragon for hosting us. A special mention to Darren and Jen Apps and Liam the Chef for their generosity and professionalism.

It was also great to see Warren Ash playing out of his skin to receive the converted Elsie’s shield!

Finally, none of this would have been possible without the work of my amazing wife, Kate

Roll on 25/08/22 for the next phenomenal day.”
