Could you go without talking, texting or typing for 4 hours? How about 8 hours? Maybe even a whole day? This summer we’re challenging people to go Speechless for Rett Syndrome and get a tiny glimpse into how it might feel to be without a voice.
Last week, the Year 5 students at Surbiton Girls’ Prep School, were the first to take on the Speechless challenge, spending four hours of their school day with only a simple communication grid to help them speak. It was harder than they thought but really rewarding – we’ll be sharing some of their reflections with you over the next few weeks.
Anyone can join the Speechless campaign – just sign up here and we’ll send you everything you need. If you think your school or workplace might like to get involved, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
